The focus is to develop a team of teachers with specialist skills in working with young adolescents enabling the transition of students into a secondary environment as soon as possible.

The Caregroup program focuses on students' wellbeing, learning and working exploration and career building. This is part of the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.

The Year 8 - 10 courses are based on the 'South Australian Curriculum and Accountability Framework' (SACSA). Each teacher is also expected to spend time planning and organising courses that build on the particular strengths, skills and knowledge of the group of students they are teaching.

Students in Years 8 - 10 will undertake studies in all 8 areas of learning (outlined below).
